Michael died November 24, 1898 at Curzon Village, Bonne Bay, District of St. Barbe, Newfoundland, at age 65. His body was interred November 26, 1898 at Woody Point, Bonne Bay, Disrtict of St. Barbe, Newfoundland. Tombstone inscription: In Loving Memory of John Michael EISAN who departed this life November 24, 1898, age 65 years. John Michael, a fisherman, was probably the first permanent resident of Crawley's Cove, settling there about 1863. John originally from Ship Harbour, Nova Scotia came to Bonne Bay as a fisherman on a Nova Scotian vessel.
The EISAN name disappeared from Bonne Bay in the 1930's with the death of Michael's second wife. The name was only carried on through his son Alfred EISAN (1864 - ?? ), who moved to Daniel's Harbour before the turn of the century

On Wednesday, July 19th, 2000 God called Alfred home to his heavenly family for his eternal rest. Predeceased by his wife, Albertha (nee Hann), on May 24th, 2000 and with cherished memories he leaves his loving and caring family: daughter Angela Hann (Leroy), her children, Zana Crocker (Richard), Jevin (fiancée Sonya), Jevin's son Davin and Zana's sweet baby Hannah; daughter Jocelyn Wheeler (Wilson), her children Marty (Lana), Corey (fiancée Sonya), Wayne (Danielle), Corey's sons, Nathan and Bailey, Wayne's children, Keana and Eric; daughter Debbie Brake (Edward), her children, Justin and Heidi; son Shawn (Trudy), his children, Robin and Charmaine; brother Aubrey (Olive) McAuley; sister Inez Carter (Pierce); in-laws Jane McAuley, Olive McAuley, Harriet McLean (Sandy) and Mona McAuley. A large number of cousins as well as nieces, nephews and a great many friends. Visitation will take place at Bethany United Church, Summerside on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. The funeral service will take place on Friday at 11:00 a.m. from Bethany United Church with Rev. William Mercer officiating. Interment will follow at the church cemetery. It is with great sadness that the family of the late Basil Melbourne McAuley announce his passing on Sunday, March 26th, at his family residence in Summerside in his 71st year. He will be sadly missed by his loving and devoted wife Mona (nee: Lod er); children Karen (Rendell Matthews), Janice (Brian Brake), Albert (Lisa), Hilda (Byron Bellows); daughter-in-law: Sherry McAuley; seven grandchildren: Paula, Colin, Jennifer, Jeffrey, Meghan, Wilfred and McAuley; brothers: Aubrey (Olive) and A lfred (Alberta); Sister Inez (Pierce Carter). In-laws: Jane McAuley, Harriet McLean, Olive McAuley; Doreen (Jerry Whyte), Shirley Loder and Hilda Ruth; Richard Loder; special niece Elizabeth Anderson, as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
